Powered paragliding · tandem

A motor, a wing,
and nothing underneath you.

A paramotor is the simplest way a person can fly. You sit in a light trike, a paraglider wing lifts you off a grass strip in about fifteen metres, and then the Corbett foothills open up underneath.

What to expect

Your first flight,
start to finish.

Most people arrive nervous and land grinning. Here is exactly how the morning goes.

Come at the slot we agree — almost always just after sunrise or in the last two hours before dusk, because that is when the air is calmest. The first thing the pilot does is watch the windsock and the wing. If the air is not right, we wait it out or we move you to another slot. This is the part people find frustrating and it is also the part that keeps everyone safe.
About ten minutes. You are shown how to sit, where to put your feet, what to hold and what not to touch. You will be strapped into the front seat with the pilot directly behind you. There is genuinely nothing for you to operate — your only job is to keep your legs forward on take-off and landing.
The wing inflates behind you, the pilot brings up the power, and the trike rolls maybe fifteen or twenty metres across the grass before the wheels stop touching. There is no drop and no lurch — it is closer to a lift rising than to a plane taking off. This is the moment most people describe afterwards.
You climb to whichever altitude your package covers and then it goes quiet and steady. Farmland in squares, the river braid, the tree line running toward the Corbett hills, and villages small enough to hold in a hand. You can talk to your pilot the whole way. Bring your phone if you like — just keep the strap around your wrist.
A long, gentle descending turn back over the strip, then the wheels touch and roll to a stop. Legs forward, and you are down. Total time on the ground from arrival to walking away is around forty-five minutes.

Where you fly

The Kosi belt,
from the outside in.

We fly over open farmland on the edge of Ramnagar, with the Corbett forest running along the horizon. It is a working landscape rather than a wilderness — and from the air, that is exactly what makes it worth seeing.

Wheat and sugarcane laid out in squares. Irrigation channels catching the light. The braided course of the Kosi. Village rooftops, a temple spire, cattle moving along a track. And past all of it, the dark treeline where the national park begins and the hills start to stack up behind it.

We do not fly over the national park itself — that is protected airspace and wildlife habitat, and we keep well clear of it. What you get instead is the whole approach to it, which is a better view anyway.

Flying and safety

The conditions come first.

Paramotor joyrides depend on suitable wind and visibility. The flying team makes the final call before every take-off.

Tandem with a pilot

You sit in the front seat while the pilot controls the paramotor from behind, from take-off through landing.

Wind decides

Paramotors want light, steady air. If it gusts, we ground the fleet. The pilot's call is final and we will never fly a marginal window to save a booking.

Inspected kit

Wings, lines, harnesses and cages are checked before the first flight of every day and again between sorties. Helmets are provided and mandatory.

One at a time

You are never flying yourself. Tandem means a trained pilot is in control from take-off to landing, and you are simply a passenger with a very good seat.

Who can fly

Most healthy adults and older children can fly tandem. Children fly with a parent's consent. If you are pregnant, have a heart condition, recent surgery, a back or neck injury, or are under the influence of alcohol, we will not fly you — please tell us before you book rather than at the field.

Exact age and weight limits depend on the wing and the day's conditions. Message us with the ages and weights in your group and we will confirm.

The awkward bit

We cannot promise you
will fly on a given day.

Anyone who promises otherwise is selling you something. Paramotors need light, steady wind, and Ramnagar does not always oblige — particularly through the monsoon and on gusty afternoons.

What we can promise: if we cannot fly you, you do not pay. We will move you to the next workable slot, or refund you in full, your choice. Book the earliest morning you can and give yourself a spare day if the flight is the whole point of the trip.
